Let it be for Love
How can the moon be ubiquitous
How can the moon still be there
When I’ve driven for over an hour?
It drives me to despair
Yes how can the moon be ubiquitous?
My reality’s turned suddenly pale
Is it all just an optical illusion
Trompe-l’oeil on a massive scale?
But whatever the truth of our reality
Whether there’s a below and above
And even if it’s all just an illusion
Please let it all be for love
Let it be for love
That the sun keeps shooting out its rays
Let it be for love
That the Lord above keeps counting out the days
Let it be for love
That the moon once surrendered her own light
So humankind could rest
And get some sleep at night
Let it be for love
That the world keeps spinning on its axis
Let it be for love
People of the lie
Are allowed to continue their evil practices
Let it be for love
That the rain keeps falling to the ground
And the mist keeps rising up
So the lost can still be found
Let it be for us
Let it be for them
For the women
And the men
For the old and the young
For this sacred continuum
Let it be for love
That the stars still twinkle in the sky
A million light years after they’ve died
Let it be for love
That the heart breaks in its shell
Let it be for love
That we’ll always have the choice
Of heaven or hell
Let it be for hope
Where there’s none
For the things we’ve left undone
Let it be for love
Let it be for love
Let it be for love
Let it be for love
Let it be for love
Let it be for love
How can the moon be ubiquitous
So steadfast in the light she shares
When I’ve driven for over an hour?
I could almost believe she cares
I could almost believe she cares
